So I'm planning to post my major photo roundup from my trip to Boston tomorrow, but today I thought I'd post an outfit favorite from last week that somehow never made the cut. I've been a bit obsessed with the preppy look of layering sweaters over collared shirts and dresses, and it seems to have become my go-to way of making summery dresses a bit more cold-weather appropriate (though that's been hardly necessary this week, with Chicago's ridiculously warm weather). This dress never fails to impress me with its comfort, wearability, and flattering shape. Plus, the color is so delightfully autumn to me.
As predicted, my week has been pretty busy. Last night was a late, but actually really fun, night after a long day. It was one of those work things that didn't really feel like work, which was a welcome surprise. Tonight is another late night, and I'm still feeling pretty under the weather. But I know I'll get fed, at least, and the evening should be interesting as well. I've also been having to wear more "business formal" outfits this week, since we had a series of meetings with bigwigs. All the meetings are done for the week, so I'm going for a slightly more fun outfit, with a whimsically-printed shirt and lace skirt. Plus, tomorrow's Friday, so who am I to complain?
How have your weeks been going? When you have certain sartorial restrictions for a few days, do you feel the need to rebel after they're over?
