I have a feeling that I'm going to be very disoriented this week. Taking a long weekend always does that to me. It's Tuesday, but it feels like Monday, and I can hardly remember what happened the last time I was at work, last Wednesday. I think it's going to be a busy, hectic, somewhat stressful week. But I get to go see Joe on Friday, which I'm so excited for. And I'm still supremely relaxed and happy from my wonderful weekend in Boston with K. It really was that perfect kind of vacation weekend. Nothing was too hard, or stressful, and we saw so much of the city without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. I convinced K. to be my outfit photographer, too, so in addition to a bit of a vacation overview later in the week, I have a few Boston outfit posts to share as well.

We spent a lot of time walking on Saturday, which was kind of perfect. We took the T into downtown and walked out along the water, and through North End and the Haymarket areas of the city, and then through Beacon Hill. In keeping with my desire to eat as much as possible, I pretty much ate my way through the day (pictures of the fresh clams and cannolli - not together - are coming in my roundup post later this week). I loved the areas of the city that were along the water. Chicago has a huge lakefront, obviously, and I love the environment of the coast along Lake Michigan, but there's something different about knowing that you're near the ocean, and I loved that about the harbor areas of Boston. It was also pretty overcast and cold for most of the weekend, but it seemed somehow appropriate when we were along the water.

I managed to pack really lightly, which I was super proud of, until I realized that I failed to pack any long sleeves. I had my wool coat, which I wore throughout the weekend, but I was definitely lacking in cardigans and sweaters. K. was kind enough to lend me this fantastic mustard yellow cardigan, which I think went perfectly with my outfit for the day. I love this vintage dress from Common Crow Vintage, partly because of the darling buttons and perfect hemline, and partly because I'm so proud of how hard Emily is rocking it with her Etsy shop! I was so happy to accept Common Crow as my most recent sponsor (check out that rad logo in my sidebar!), and I happily snatched up this lovely dress. I promise to wear it again soon so you can see the detailing on the top half. Overall, though, I feel like it was perfect for a day exploring the city. A cozy and bright cardigan, comfy and funky flats, my favorite tights, and a new (to me) vintage dress. Beantown got rocked.
