Me and Joe, New Year's Eve 2008
For a few days now I've been trying to come up with the words to describe how I feel about 2009. In so many ways, I'm glad it's over. It had far too many kick-me-while-I'm-down moments, and I'm ready to be rid of those. But it also brought some unexpected joy into my life. I started this blog in 2009, and what began as a random experiment has transformed into a hobby that I truly love, and one which has boosted my self-esteem, belief in beauty, and sense of community (I could probably write a whole essay on this, but I'll leave it at that for now). Joe and I weathered some of the toughest setbacks we'd ever had, but came through stronger, closer, and more of a team than I think either of us thought was possible at the beginning of the year. With my new job and a lot of exciting things on Joe's horizon, I think 2010 will more than make up for what 2009 lacked.
to reflection and renewal:
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year!!
