Despite these admittedly awful pictures, I really enjoyed today's outfit. I like that it combined the style from one outfit and the color combination from another. This Copper Key skirt, which I've had for years and years and was originally a Christmas present from my mom (thanks!), packs all the style of an asymmetrical jersey skirt with all the comfort of a worn-in pair of jammies. I also really like the cherry red of this shirt (another serendipitous laundry room find!). I don't often wear primary colors, but when I do I like to keep the rest of the outfit pretty simple to let the bright color shine.
And don't be fooled by these outside shots. It's pretty brisk in Chicago today. I enjoyed the first snow flurries of the season today as I walked home from work. It wasn't much, but I think it counts. And it looks like highs in the 30s for the rest of the week. Looks like winter is finally here. Joe and I have spent the past couple of evenings brewing and bottling beer. We've got a nut brown ale on the way, and a breakfast stout just starting to ferment. Brewing has turned out to be the perfect winter hobby, and a great way for Joe and I to spend some time together, since our work schedules are almost exactly opposite each other.
