Time for a long weekend! I'm headed out of town this weekend and won't be back until Tuesday morning(which, sadly, means I'm not going to be able to attend the Midwest Bloggers' Brunch...I'm bummed, but in my experience so far there's always a next time. Have a ball, ladies!). I'm hoping I can beat most of the traffic leaving Chicago this afternoon, but I'm geared up for a lot of slow driving in the first hour or two. And by gearing up, I mean bringing rad CDs (I've also discovered the incredibly satisfying game of scanning through the radio stations continuously, stopping only when "Love the Way You Lie" comes on. There's actually more stopping than scanning, since basically every station short of NPR seems to be playing that song). Should be a good drive.
I'm super happy with how this outfit turned out. Kind of felt a bit like that middle-aged woman who you always run into at any neighborhood arts festival. Loose linen tunic, sensible shoes, slightly bohemian necklace, pants, artsy jewelry, sassy I-don't-give-a-crap-about-your-capitalist-patriarchy-but-I'm-going-to-buy-this-overpriced-jar-because-it-will-look-awesome-in-my-bay-window attitude. Whew. Sorry, I'm not actually bitter about middle-aged ladies at arts festivals. They're actually quite delightful. Some of my absolute favorite people are middle-aged ladies who I always see at the arts fairs. They give the best presents.
Title song: Eminem, ft. Rihanna, "I Love the Way You Lie"
