Sometimes (okay, pretty much all of the time), having blogger friends is rad. A couple of Fridays ago, after work, I met up with a few fave bloggers as they went out on a photo-taking expedition. Veronika was in Chicago for the weekend, and she and Andrea came down to Emily and my neck of the woods to take pictures for a project that Emily and Lisa are working on. I tagged along, and happily partook in bloggy chats and photoshoots. It was an absolutely lovely Friday afternoon diversion, and though I wasn't able to attend the Randolph Street Market event later that evening (check out the other gals' blogs for details on the happy hour party at the Market!), I'm glad I was able to see everyone a bit that afternoon.
These gorgeous pictures are all courtesy of Andrea's mad photo-snapping skillz (giant pervert lens and all...). I feel like it's always a tad awkward when someone new is behind the camera, but Andrea is such a damn pro, and in seconds I felt comfortable and easy. She just snapped away as I fidgeted around in the grass, and somehow we ended up with some damn fine shots, if I do say so myself! Thanks again, Andrea. You da bomb.
Of course, since this outfit is from a couple of weeks ago, it is in no way indicative of what I'm wearing this week (another reader mentioned this after yesterday's post, too, since sweaters are not really on the docket in Chicago this week). It's hot as blazes in Chicago this week, and simple, cool dresses and sandals are about all I can muster in terms of style. But after taking last week off, I'm definitely a bit behind on posting, and have a backlog of cooler-weather outfits yet to post. So if you'll bear with a few seasonally-inappropriate outfits, we'll be back on track in no time!
I can already feel my summer turning into a whirlwind of planning, changing, and adjusting to new things. I know that my particular situation, three months from now, will probably be wildly different, in one way or another, than it is now, but I'm totally uncertain of what the specific changes will be. All I know is that I'll be in flux for awhile, that I'll share more when I can, and that I'm glad I got to spend a chilly afternoon at the lake with so many lovely ladies. It's moments like those when I just love Chicago, for everything it's got.
