Happy Monday! I gotta say, I don't envy all of you who are at work today. :) Although, even if I wasn't on vacation this week, I'd have the day off, so I'll wait until tomorrow to do my true vacation gloating. Are any of you going to get the chance to take a summer vacation this year? I know that some of you work at universities or schools and actually get a true summer vacation (and most of you students at least have a few months without classes), but what about the rest of you? Any awesome trips or staycations planned?

I actually wore this outfit a week ago when Joe and I had our awesome weekend out of Chi-town. These railroad jeans are quickly becoming my very favorite weekend pants. They are superbly comfortable, with tons of roominess, and I love the rolled cuffs and pleated waistband. They look equally fantastic with heels or with flats, and the subtle pattern seems to match with anything I throw at it. I've actually worn these a few more times than I've posted, but I think this is my favorite incarnation so far. I haven't worn this vest with a sleeveless shirt yet, and I kind of love the 90s-esque effect.

Crazylegs Lane!! How flippin' awesome is that??!?!!

Also, dudes, do you see that sign? Crazylegs Lane! I stood at this intersection for a good five minutes trying to get the best photo I could of the sign. As usual, bless his heart, Joe stood and patiently waited. Later that day he did concede that my camera was a great investment; I use it for everything!

Okay, final reminders of this post:

Come Down for Fireworks Time

Happy 4th of July, everyone!! What are all of your plans for the holiday weekend? Joe and I are currently chillin' in Colorado, probably watching a rodeo. Yup, you heard right. Oddly enough, I'm a rodeo girl at heart. Though I'm not really sure what I'm actually doing right now, since I'm writing this post on Friday afternoon. What I'm actually doing right now (in my right now), is watching the Uruguay/Ghana match. Kind of creepy that you guys know the outcome of the match and I don't. Yet. *cue Twilight Zone music*

Anyway, I think it's kind of apropos that I'm posting this outfit for the 4th. This is about as patriotic as my outfits get, and even though I'm lacking red in this ensemble, I think it fits the bill pretty well. Even though I wore this to work, I could see rocking it at an Independence Day barbecue. Okay, that's it for me today, team. I'll keep it short so you can all get back to your festivating. Happy 4th!

Don't forget to ask me some questions for my Between Laundry Days FAQ!! Oh, and if you haven't entered my Orient USA watch giveaway, do it now!!

Giveaway: Orient Automatic Watch

Orient

Hey guys! I've checked out for the week, but I wanted to make sure that you all have something to do while I'm gone. ;) I'm thrilled to be giving away this lovely watch from Orient USA. I've recently started loving watches (there's something much cooler about checking the time on a watch instead of a cell phone, isn't there?), so I'm pretty bummed that I'm not eligible to win this one! And Orient USA has great stuff, like the CET05001B and the 2ER00002D (they may not be catchy names, but they're rad watches!).

To enter, simply follow Between Laundry Days (with Google Reader, Bloglovin, whatever you prefer!). Let me know how you follow, and leave a comment on this post! Make sure to include a valid email address! The giveaway will be open until Friday, July 16 at noon.

Good luck!!

*Unfortunately, this giveaway is only open to US readers. Sorry, international contingent, I'll have something for you soon, I promise!
**Don't forget to click on the "bld faq" link in my header to ask me your burning questions!

A little Plea!!

Guys,

This is a wee plea to all of our friends and supporters out there to help our dear friend Gabby Young, who recently played at Glastonbury with her band, "Gabby Young and Other Animals" .

Gabby has a rare opportunity to be featured in the top 40 UK Music Charts, but they need our help. As a friend and huge supporter of bonzie designs we wanted to pass along the word about this incredible young woman and hope that you guys take a moment to do a random act of kindness in getting this lovely gal closer to her dreams!!

To help with the push you simply click on http://www.gabbyyoung.co.uk/ and download their gorgeous track "we are all in this together" (rather apt don't you think! ) it costs 49p and will go a long way in making someone's dream come true this week! They only have 2000 votes left to go and every vote counts so please do what you can.

I'd Like a Part

Ah, the second holiest grail of bloggers: the unidentifiable, abandoned building, preferably with pillars. I actually love this building, and have admired it for years. Joe and I have discussed the perfect dream "what if?" scenario of buying it and turning it into a library/coffeehouse/bakery. This will, of course, never happen. For now I'll just stand in front of it and pose. This was a particularly serendipitous outfit, since I literally just grabbed stuff that was near me and threw it on. I love this necklace, partly because it's awesome, and mostly because I made it. And the dragonfly bead was given to me for my birthday from my wonderful parents, so it's like an awesome DIY gift necklace!

Even though I'm taking next week off from computers, there's kind of a lot of awesome stuff coming up for me, Joe, Between Laundry Days, and my lovely BLD readers. I'll clue you in bit by bit, but suffice it to say that you should probably be excited. In the meantime, I want you all to stay active and involved while I'm gone! So in your comment to this post, ask me anything you'd like, and I'll set up a BLD FAQ post when I get back (damn, acronyms are fun!)!! Don't be shy! I know some of you are dying to know what my favorite pizza toppings are and have been too timid to come out and ask. My only rule is that I won't answer questions from anonymous commenters (picky, I know). I want this to be a conversation between me and my readers, and it's no good if I don't know who's askin'! So weigh in, pipe up, chime in, ask away!
