Okay, so this sure as hell better be the last day I wear tights this year. To be honest, all this rain and thunder and apocalyptic lightning had better be done soon, 'cause it's June, dammit! Waking up in the middle of the night because lightning keeps striking close enough to make car alarms go off is not my idea of a pleasant start to the summer. All that being said, I ended up absolutely loving this outfit, tights and all. I'm really drawn to caramel- and cognac-colored accessories, and seem to use them in a lot of outfits. I think there's just something really enlivening and comfortable about warm metallics. Plus, they seem to go really well with just about any other color scheme. I especially like them with this white/navy/chambray outfit. This navy striped vest is one of the pieces I found on my recent thrifting expedition with Emily, and I just love it. Vests are one of those items that I feel have really universal staying power. By virtue of their general lack of fabric, they're fairly versatile through different seasons. I can't wait to wear this one with light summery layers and then again through next fall and winter with heavier fabrics and boots. In any case, I'm a big fan of how it works with this particular outfit, today.
