I really enjoyed working in the particular colour scheme, the plums and merlot colours look very rich with the hint of black.

Variety is the Spice of MY life!

One of the things I adore about being a designer is the variety in my life. I love how I can be making a mother of the bride outfit one day and the next day, grappling with thousands of diamantes on a dance costume. Well this week was a week of a first of a kind (if you get me meaning)

I was asked by a super nice etsian to create something "in my signature style" for a doll! I have to say making something in minature is a bit of a challenge for me , its as if my brain is used to one dimension of spacial awareness and sizing! I gave it a lash as I firmly believe challenges are there to push the boundries as a designer and sometimes the results are surprising.

I tried to keep it very whimsical and romantic. ;)

One of my faves!

I came upon these photos recently of a coat I did for one of my very stylish clients here in the studio!! I wanted to share it with you guys as its something that you wouldn't typically find in my etsy shop as its more of a couture piece thats custom made for studio visitors. Its embellished the whole way through the back, and always draws a lot of attention when its worn.

If/when ( *she giggles*) I have my own boutique, I would envisage rails adorned with these type of pieces!

First Etsy Sale!!

Thats right gals, after only a little over a week having set up shop on etsy I had a sale!! I have to say the rush of adrenalin I got when I read the email to say I had a sale blew me away!! My heart was hoppin in my chest, guess I just wasn't expecting it, at least not for another few months. So I was thrilled, a little sad to see one of my favourite pieces (pictured above) head off on its merry way to California but also really pleased. The blue corset has a really antique finish to it, I used vintage material and distressed further to look antique, it actually looks like it was lying in a chest in an attic for years, just the way I like it. lol. I included a handembellished clutch made from beautiful vintage fabric to commemorate the first buyer. I hope they keep coming, oh, and that the high is the same as the first sale too!! lol
