Ah, yes. Wednesday. Funny how I've been aching for a job for a month, and now that I have one I'm already looking forward to the weekend! Such is life, I suppose. Grass being greener, or something like that. Anyway, I love this outfit. I was really bummed to have to take off the sweater at work (sweltering radiators + wool turtleneck jacket do not a comfy Clare make), because I really liked the shape of the outfit with the sweater. I liked the summer version of this outfit too, but each time I looked back on the photos, I felt like the silhouette was too baggy. I like this better because the pants are loose, but are balanced by the fitted sweater. Plus, this color combination is one of my favorites.

So I am seriously digging this whole remix entire outfits idea. I get to put minimal thought into what I wear, which is great at 6 AM, but I still get to flex those creative muscles, challenging myself to add interesting elements and unique flair to this incarnation. I really love how this outfit turned out, too. My new office seems to be kept pretty warm in the winter, so I knew I wanted to do layers with this dress instead of adding a heavy sweater or cable-knit tights. I wore this cardigan the first time too, but decided to work it again, adding the scarf for contrast, and these freaking delightful tights to make things interesting.

The new job seems good so far. Everyone at the office is really nice, and seem really committed to help me learn the ropes. The office also deals with issues that I'm really passionate about, so it will be a great experience for me, and a fantastic way to network, learn the industry, and get some great work experience. Random bonus: the dress code is "business casual" (does anyone really know what that means?), and apparently denim is A-OK on occasion. It's like Christmas!

First day of work at new temp job

So I've decided to do a new thing here. Or an old thing, I'm not really sure. Basically, I'm going to be going back through outfits that I wore during my first days/weeks at my old job. I'll then remix the entire outfit, making it more seasonally-appropriate. I think it will do wonders with picking what to wear each day, and it will help to keep me from spending any money right now. It will also be fun to be able to inject a little creativity into the outfits by changing up the accessories and such, especially in making some of the very summery outfits more appropriate for the coming winter months.

So for today's outfit I decided to remix the outfit I wore on my first day of work at my previous job. I added tights, and replaced these fun brogues for the flats I wore then, but for the most part kept it pretty true. I just love the shape of this skirt, and I felt like this was a perfect outfit for my first day at the new temp job. The position seems to be pretty interesting, and the office is really dynamic and young, so I think it will be a good place for me to be for now. Wish me luck!

Oh, and sorry about the weird squinty eyes in these photos. The sun was really bright!

Irish Brides Magazine Feature!

Gals, we have been so looking forward to sharing this particular magazine feature, and as publishing goes, its important to only share the news after its been released to the public. We had an opportunity to work with one of Irelands top stylists Tanya Grimson and we were blown away by the results, very hauntingly beautiful and with a really mystical aesthetic, its been so incredible to be involved in such a high profile collaboration.

Holiday Cards

Well, I did it. I had some Bent Objects holiday cards printed. I had just a few thousand made, so they will be unique.
They were delivered to the house a few days ago, and the printer did a very nice job with them. They're A2 size ( 5.5'' x 4.25'').



They're multiple use, because they're blank on the inside, so they can be Thank You cards, Christmas or New Year's party invitations, or Happy Holiday cards. Versatile is good way to describe them, I think.

I also like blank cards so I can personalize them a bit with a "Happy Holidays!", Season's Greetings!", "Merry Christmas to our good friends ____", or "Happy New Year To _____!" You can have it say whatever you want without trying to think of something extra to write under an already printed saying. That's the trouble I have with cards anyway. Maybe you're more talented in this area.


Oh, and did I mention that the cards are 100% recycled? Yep. And the envelopes? Also 100% recycled. Try finding that in the big box store down the street.

Client Corner ~ Liz

Hi Gals,

Its been a long time since we checked in with you all, a lot has been happening over the last wee while. The laptop took a sabatical for quite some time whilst my charger decided to give up the ghost so I have been without all my photographs for ages and finally have managed to get the technology back in action again. I was also away on my holidays for a week in London with my sister and we had an amazing trip so theres lots of catching up to do here in the studio.

One of the loveliest things to come home to is photographs from our brides of their wedding day and how our piece worked out with their ensemble. One such bride was Liz who actually bought her wedding dress around her teal bolero and chose something that would compliment it overall. I love the pop of rich teal color within Liz's look, its a really fresh approach to bridal and really adds a new dimension to the traditional color palette. Liz was such an awesome client to work with and we are so chuffed to have featured in her special day.

We wish Liz and her new Hubbie the best of all that Married life has to offer. xxxx
