So, for Dress Your Best Week, I seem to be working my way from big to small. I've already talked about my undying love for my hourglass-challenged figure and my versatile waist, and today I'm scaling down again. This body part is still very much in the figure/shape/bone structure category, though, so the transition is still smooth. Today I'm celebrating a very special part of me, that I have been super happy to see that other bloggers are embracing as well...
3. My clavicle/collarbone/upper chest
...I never know what to call this area of my body. Greater chestacular? Entre-shoulders? Upper sternum?
My collarbone area makes me really, really glad that I have this dress. Wide-cut collars do wonders to show off the sexy yet subtle hollows of my collarbones. I love the way that Sara of Orchids in Buttonholes described the clavicle as appearing "delicate and intricate" while remaining "strong and essential to one’s physical structure" (sorry I snagged your description, Sara; it was just too perfect!). I really love this region of the body, in general, and there's nary a collarbone I don't find attractive. But I love mine especially (and isn't that what this week is all about?) because of how perfectly it compliments the rest of my figure. Because of my flat rectangularity, I can wear pretty low-cut shirts and wider-collared tops without revealing the ladies to the outside world. When I dress to suit my figure, my collarbone naturally shines, exhibiting the unexpected sexiness of the skeleton (I was going to say "unexpected sexiness of a couple of bones" but that seemed inappropriate and a bit like an oxymoron). So today I'm celebrating the way that my body seems absolutely made to show off this fabulous little landscape on my upper sternum/entre-shoulders/greater chestacular area. :)
