I think I'm finally done with my cold! I'm only fighting the sniffles a little bit now, and I feel back on track with my energy level. So much so that while waiting for Joe to get home from work, I decided to make a yummy fresh dinner...shiitake mushroom and leek fettuccine with parmesan pepper beets and an Argentine Pinot Grigio. Followed, deliciously, by homemade chocolate chip cookies. It felt 0h-so-good to be cooking again, since I haven't felt quite up to it since I came down with this cold.
This outfit was a major source of anxiety and frustration today. While I love the way it finally turned out, this is in fact the third incarnation of this navy and white striped dress that I tried today. It's pretty short (~fingertip length), so I first paired it with periwinkle tights. No such luck. Then I styled it as a tunic with my straight-leg dark-wash jeans. After discovering that it is just too tight-fitting to be a tunic, and after seeing this photo of Emily (thanks to this post by A. of Academichic!), I landed on a full(ish) skirt over the dress. Thanks, blog-o-sphere! I don't know what I'd do without you!!
