Today's pattern challenge is fulfilled by the use of this marvelous yoga top that my mom gave me years ago. I rarely wear it as an everyday top, but I always love it when I do. So when I implemented this fashion challenge for myself, I knew that this beloved tank would come in handy. I love the pattern on it, and it fits oh-so-close to my body, but is oh-so-very comfortable.
This outfit, in terms of style, is a bit out of my comfort zone. My wearing of skinny jeans is usually limited to boots or flats, so wearing them over these black high-heeled booties was different for me. But I do like how they made my legs so long. I feel part ballerina, part chic street fashionista. Some might say that this outfit was ruined in part by being stuck at home all day. However, it let me try out a new look without having to really try it out(side). Plus, I felt put-together and fashionable, even for a day indoors (just to follow up on some of the discussions the ladies - and their readers - at Academichic have been having - see here, here, and here for examples!). It felt good!
A note on accessories: Joe gave me this ring awhile ago. I love it and wear it almost every day (if I'm not spicing things up with one of my beloved statement rings!). I thought it was about time that it got featured with its very own photo and comment. These earrings, which I love for their whimsical childishness (and their matchiness with this shirt!), came as a free "thank you" from one of the Etsy sellers I bought from recently. What a delightful surprise!!
