So at the end of last week we got a buttload of snow in Chicago. As in, it started on Wednesday night and didn't let up until Friday morning. As in, we ended up with eight delightfully fluffy inches that I happily walked through on my way to work. I love big, fast snow like that, the kind that completely transforms the world, the kind that muffles everything so that sound travels more slowly, the kind that kids tend to frolic in (my boss's kids told me about their elaborate plan to ambush him with snowballs when he got home from work). It was delightful.
I went to a meeting in the middle of last week, and met a few other new employees from other offices. It was nice to meet some new colleagues, and I managed to get some pretty sweet style inspiration from some of the women there. I got the idea for this outfit from one of them, who was wearing a similar outfit, in both style and color palette. I felt awesome in this outfit. It was one of those outfits that just felt right, like each piece just went together so well. I like how none of it matched perfectly, but I still felt like everything was really complimentary. And though I definitely didn't walk to work in the brogues, I'm glad I brought them to wear, since I feel like they really pulled the whole outfit together. I took the laces out of them awhile ago, to make them a bit more casual for an outfit. Joe thinks I should but them back in, but I'm too lazy.
