Dress-up at home, super sweet holiday partAY (I wish!)

Ever since the start of the holiday season, I've been wanting to do a festive holiday party post. I wanted to showcase at least one rockin' party dress before the season ended. However, all of my holiday social gatherings were surprisingly low-key, and I would have been drastically overdressed in this outfit. Even NYE was a casual affair (Joe and I invited some close friends over for games and fondue). So I decided today that I'd do a little Sunday dress-up, and show you what I would have worn to a wintry holiday party, if I'd had half the chance. I won this super-fun skirt from Love, Simone in a Blooming Leopold giveaway recently, and I knew it would be most at home at a party.

I start my new job tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to the new challenges it will bring me, but also simply to be able to get into a routine again. The holidays were nice, and it was lovely to be on vacation in sunny Arizona with Joe and my family (more outfit posts from our vacation to follow). But parts of the past couple of weeks were harder. My grandmother fell ill shortly before Christmas and passed away a few days ago. The whole thing has been very hard, and exhausting, and I'm kind of just trying to get back in some kind of groove. So it will be good to start something new, in the new year, with high hopes.
