First of all, thank you all so much for your very helpful photo editing tips! I'll still probably invest in Photoshop, as it's the program I know best, and it is fairly cheap for me, but I'll keep using programs like Picnik and iPhoto for more basic, quick-fix editing. I'm lucky that my little point-and-shoot Canon is pretty decent, because I really don't have the time or energy for very much editing on a day-to-day basis.
Today's outfit was planned earlier this week. I've always been a bit of an insomniac, and I've trained myself, over the years, to plan things as I go to sleep. It lets my brain keep working so that I don't get that icky insomnia feeling, but it lets my body relax and eventually drift off. For quite awhile now, I've been planning outfits while I lie in bed. Many of them are never actually worn, since I either fall asleep halfway through my outfit design process, or I forget entirely what my great idea was when I wake up in the morning. This one I remembered, though, and I'm glad I did. I wanted something to tone down the vibrancy of this purple dress, and I knew that I had already worn it with gray, so I paired it with warmer, more earthy tones today. I'm really happy with the result. This feels like a very me outfit.
