This week has been/is/will be mind-numbingly busy. Things at work have reached the fever pitch typical to mid-February, and tasks and responsibilities in the other parts of my life don't seem to be slowing down much. I actually much prefer fast-paced busy stuff at work, though. Time goes by much faster and I feel like I'm accomplishing much more than I do during the slower periods. I'm balancing my overworked schedule with the knowledge that the weekend will be here before I know it, and I'll be hanging out for two whole days without the structure or demands of work.
It's been a fast/slow week, and though work has been breakneck, my time at home as been oddly unstructured, unproductive, and less rejuvenating than it should be, which leaves me more tired each morning and feeling a bit less able to take on the workday. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm hoping that I can pull it together tonight, eat a tasty healthy meal, get some shit done, and unwind for real. I've been in a renewed fiction-reading phase lately, which is awesome, so I'm hoping to settle in for a couple of hours with some Michael Chabon and see where that takes me. How do you all unwind during particularly busy weeks? Are you a people person or do you need your quiet alone time (spoiler alert: I'm the latter)?
I felt flashy as shit in this outfit. I got more than a few glances at my bright rust-colored tights, and at least one in-real-life comment on them. There was sort of an oddly cohesive mis-matched quality to this outfit, or I thought so at least. None of the colors are actually replicated anywhere else in the outfit, but it somehow worked to my work-addled Tuesday brain. Whaddaya think? Too much pomp, not enough circumstance?
p.s. This has always been one of my favorite spots to take pictures. It's this weird little abandoned building near my apartment, and I just love it. Fabulous arches, a lovely view of the park, and lots of little ledges on which to set my camera. Downside? It's often full of homeless dudes. It was clear sailing yesterday, though, so I jumped on the opportunity to capture the last light of the day in my favorite spot in our neighborhood. The homeless dudes can have it back today, if they want it. I got my kicks yesterday.
