Okay, boys and girls (aw, come one, we all know it's just girls here!), we all know what's coming up. The most revered/reviled holiday that any greeting card company has ever invented. Expectations are high, flowers and chocolate are required, and the pressure is so on. Now, I am one of those people that adore holidays. I am over-the-moon when it comes to Christmas, start the birthday countdown months before it rolls around, and am a major fan of present-giving (and getting, who are we kidding) in any form. So you might think that Valentine's Day would be pretty high on my list. And it is, kind of. I'm not a huge fan of the expectation and the obsession and the pressure, but I love the flowers, the candy, the presents, and, of course, the 50%-off boxes of chocolate at Walgreens come February 15. Oh, and, I guess, the love stuff.
Seriously, I'm a very lucky girl. I know that I talk about Joe a lot on this blog, so I kind of feel like you all know him a little bit already, but I think Valentine's Day is as good a time as any to gush. (By the way, I'm aware that it isn't Valentine's Day yet, but Joe works on Sunday, so we'll be celebrating tomorrow, so it's been on my mind.) We have gotten to this point in our relationship where we just feel like partners. We work together towards the same goals, we share our ups and downs. The best part about it is that we share the little things. I take for granted sometimes that I have someone to have coffee with every morning, someone that shares the same passions that I do, someone that compliments my knowledge with his own, someone to share the chores with, someone who cooks curry for me once a week. And someone who I know loves me, unconditionally, and will love me through anything. He has been so supportive of this project, and of all the projects and passions and goals that I have. Like I said, I'm lucky, and I know it.
Speaking of presents and love, Joe recently made this awesome necklace for me! He'd been collecting zipper pulls and buttons for awhile now, and a few weeks ago put it all together. That's one of the things I love about him; he's so creative and crafty, and creates things that I would never think to make. I'm always amazed by what he can produce. This necklace is one of those things. It's so fun and pretty and I love how it matches with some of my favorite things. I hope this surge of craftiness continues, since my birthday is totally coming up (let the two-month countdown begin...). In any case, I really wanted to show off this gorgeous necklace to all of you. I'm so proud of Joe, for a lot of reasons, and his creativity is definitely a part of that. Happy (almost-) Valentine's Day, my dear. I'm stuck on you! :)
