This dress was a delightfully thoughtful gift from the lovely, stylish Kristin of Leproust Vintage. It was too short for her, so she kindly offered to mail it my way. And my how I love it! I was smitten with it when she wore it, and I'm so happy with how it fits into my wardrobe and personal style. The stripey bottom is so fabulous, don't you think? I'm really just over the moon about this dress. I'm really happy with the way this outfit came out, too. I think all the pops of brown balance out the dark dress and tights. I've been wearing so much black, navy, and brown together lately. I think I just love how pairing two neutrals (or, in this case, pretty much all of the neutrals) makes one of them essentially transform into a non-neutral. Like in this outfit, for example. In any other setting, the brown in this outfit would just be a subtle background color, but paired with black and navy in this outfit it becomes a highlight color. I love how the brown belt totally pops against the black and white of the dress. Yeah, so basically I love this outfit. And on top of all the awesomeness, the dress is really comfy, too. So I owe a big thank you to Kristin for making it possible!
I'm calling it a night, folks. It's been a long, busy week already, and I'm barely making it through this post. I came down with a bit of a stomach bug last night (it seems that any time my boss's kids get sick, I get sick), so I definitely need my sleep tonight.
