Today I'm trying out the two-thirds of a triad rule laid out by the lovely gals over at Academichic. I'm already inspired by their ideas. I'm mostly pairing the green sweater with the bright orange jewelry, with the multicolored scarf as a bit of warmth and spice. But it's a look I wouldn't normally have tried, and I'm surprised how much I like it!

It was dreary and rainy on Tuesday, and this outfit just couldn't seem to get me out of the doldrums. However, I adore the jewelry that I am wearing today. Both pieces were given to me by one of my best friends from college. She made the necklace herself (the shell was collected from a beach in the South of France!) and bought the earrings at a student art sale at our college.

I do love these new boots, too. I have recently discovered Kmart (online, mostly, since big stores like that don't seem to fare well in the big city) as a great place for shoe-shopping. Very cheap, and as far as comfort goes, so far so good!
