So I thought it might be cool enough today to wear a long-sleeve shirt. Oh, how wrong I was. My office is very air-conditioned, and my desk sits just downwind from one of the vents. This means, during summer at least, that I basically have to show up at work ready for some pretty icy temps. Since I walk to work everyday, through sticky August heat, I also have to be prepared for summer toastiness. Most days have been okay so far, but I was way off with this shirt and the close-toed brogues (no matter how cute they are!). I was fine once inside, but those 25 minute walks were pretty brutal.
I've been really enamored lately with brown accents to my outfits. I've been really loving the addition of leather and wood accessories. For that reason, I love the overall feel and color composition of this outfit. The navy shirt and khaki skirt make up a neutral color palette which allows the browns to stand out. This purse is a particular favorite of mine. I went thrifting last weekend at Goodwill and found this 100% leather beauty, made in Italy (no brand tags though, so I'm sorry to say I can't point any of your jealousies in the right direction to get your own). I've been longing for a long-strap leather purse for awhile, and when I saw this one with its fun detailing and sturdy construction - not to mention $3.99 price tag! - I jumped at the chance. I love how the dimples on the leather of the purse are mirrored in the pattern on my new brogue heels, too, and then how that dot pattern is picked up a bit in both of my necklaces.
