Where:
Work, Taste of Chicago, Keri Hilson/Ne-Yo concert

My sister and I took the opportunity yesterday evening to visit the Taste of Chicago to watch the Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo concert. I actually knew very little of the music, but my sis is a fan, so I was game. And it was pretty fun, despite the mild panic attack I had about getting bowled over by the crowds (my arm has made me a big wimp). Overall it was totally fun (and tasty!).

One of the things I've been doing to increase my couture creativity lately is to pull out rarely-worn or really old pieces of clothing that haven't seen the light of day for many a moon. I've had this maroon sweater forever and just stopped wearing it at some point. So I used it yesterday as the central point of my wardrobe, matching the other pieces to its color, texture, or style. While I'm not thrilled with the result, I like the colors and silhouette of the outfit. And I'm happy with the opportunity to break out this belt again. What about you guys? Do you ever return to an "old" style or piece of clothing to rejuvenate your daily wear? If so, do you have a go-to favorite or is it just anything from a different time in your fashion evolution?

Title song: Michael Jackson (and Sir Paul!), "The Girl is Mine"
